*** Fabric was gifted by Fabric Wholesale Direct in exchange for a blog post feature***
As you may have seen in my previous post Fabric Wholesale Direct Collab, I've been gifted several lengths of fabric in exchange for blogging about them. In this particular post, I'll be talking specifically about the dri-weave knits.
This fabric is 90% polyester, 10% spandex, 60" wide, with 2 way stretch. It helps wick away sweat, and is machine washable. Basically, this is a perfect fabric for a workout tank! I picked out two different colors of this fabric: Burgundy for me, and white for Eddie, and went with the Madi and Eddie patterns respectively. (You can find them in my shop if you click on the links)
For the Eddie, I made a straight size I, with the no-swoosh option for the front. The only real change I had to make was to take about 1" out of the shoulder to bring everything up a little. He loved the color, and the lightness of the fabric, as well as the moisture wicking properties.
For me, I actually made two versions of The Madi. The first one was also a no-swoosh view, in size G, except around the waist, where I graded out to a size I.
For the second one, I made some major hacks to the pattern. I raised the neckline, widened the racerback, cropped it at my waist. But the major hack was giving the shirt a front twist.
I love that this fabric comes in so many color options (currently I think there are 10 different ones to choose from) and is machine washable, so we can throw our tanks into the laundry with all our other workout clothes. And even though it is a perfect fabric for exercising, I've also had fun pairing my tanks with non-workout clothing, and I don't think it looks half-bad!
