A few weeks ago, I got an email from Joe at Fabric Wholesale Direct (FWD) asking if I'd like to partner with them. I could pick out $100 worth of fabric from the site, and get it for free. And in exchange, I would write up a blog post tutorial about the project I choose to make from it and link back to their website. I eagerly agreed, and spent the next few hours pouring over all the fabrics they offer. And here's what I found: $100 of fabric at FWD is WAY more fabric than I realized. I started out with just one project in mind, to recover several outdoor cushions I picked up for free. And I was pleasantly surprised to find some waterproof fabric options for my project, with a wide selection of colors. I decided on Ottertex waterproof canvas in silver, and added my yardage to my cart. But even with 7 yards, it was nowhere near the $100 limit, so I took another look around the site to see what else I might like. I decided to add several more fabrics to my cart, and make this a blog series instead of just one post. This first post is just a rundown of all the fabrics I picked out, and future posts will be about what I make from each fabric. I can't wait! Here's the list from my order. I've taken photos of each of them, since I feel like you can't have too many photos when it comes to online fabric shopping. I will say that I think the most accurate representation of the fabric colors is in the photo with all the fabrics layed out together. You can see that the silver waterproof fabric is lighter in real life. The raspberry power mesh has more pink in it in real life, and the dusty rose power mesh is more of a light pink. And the Sage cotton gauze has a bit more blue in it than the online pictures show. The rest of the fabrics seem pretty accurate colorwise. Also, as we all know, colors can look very different in different lighting. So I'm excited to see how these colors show up when I'm wearing them. (or sitting on them...) Also, each photo links to the corresponding fabric on the FWD site! Ottertex Canvas Waterproof: Silver100% Polyester, 60" wide, with a waterproof PVC backing, and mold and UV resistant qualities. Not machine washable, and may fade after 500 hours in the sun. The Cotton Gauze: Sage100% Cotton, 48/50" wide, translucent, crinkle texture, slight vertical stretch, The Dry-Weave Knits:90% polyester, 10% spandex, 60" wide, 2 way stretch, helps wick away sweat, machine washable. The Power Meshes:90% nylon, 10% spandex, 60" wide, 55% stretch, stretch in all four directions, machine wash cold and hang to dry.

Burgundy dry does sound super nice to wear. I need to get more clothes for my wardrobe. I'll have to hire a seamstress to custom-make my clothes.
